My current thinking is to heavily buff the range and effect- increased maximum slow, increased duration, 30 or 40 armor while it's active, maybe even bake in ] so CC is less effective- but then remove the reduced mana cost from ] and maybe even increase the base mana cost. It would hard-counter any and all melee characters while his current E does punish melee, there's room for counter-play when he runs low on mana and has to turn it off, and that wouldn't be possible if he always had it on for free. Reworking him to be much beefier and more threatening at short range would be the best approach. Even just going off of the Death Knight class identity in WoW, Arthas is supposed to be this juggernaut that's not very agile but incredibly hard to bring down, which would make him ideal for a main tank but poorly-suited to be some kind of backline-diving bruiser. The problem is that Frozen Tempest's slow and range are underpowered and his ability to survive focus fire is surprisingly weak, so it's far too easy to kite him out and burst him as a main tank and it's too easy to avoid his peels as a counter-pick to dive. wat 2Ī rework would be more appropriate conceptually, Arthas fits a fine niche of "anti-dive tank" where Frozen Tempest and Howling Blast can be used to psuedo-block enemies trying to get past him and dive into the backline, and that combination also makes him well-suited to catching targets and setting them up for his DPS to burst down.
